- Recent advancements in DNA genotyping and DNA sequencing technologies have produced a quantum shift in the rate of progress that can be made in understanding the genetic basis of trait variation. This investment provides direct access and support for use of next-generation DNA technologies and the integration of these technologies across the range of research activities routinely undertaken to investigate the genetic basis for trait variation, identify genes involved in trait expression and develop trait-linked markers for wheat, durum and barley breeders.
