description
- This project was designed to develop more accurate yield loss information for the major diseases of wheat and barley where there is some varietal resistance. By conducting field trials across a range of cropping regions where the diseases occur, the project generated yield responses to regional priority pathogens and nematodes for a range of varietal resistances and disease pressures from negligible to severe. The project developed information to support crop agronomic decision-making, considering disease risk which may be influenced by crop sequence, varietal selection, stubble management and seasonal climate. By gaining improved understandings of the actual implications of disease, the project assists growers and advisers in making improved agri-chemical and plant variety decisions.
