UNE00022 - Evaluating testing methods for phosphorus and potassium soil reserves (2015.04.0° Completed Project uri icon

description

  • Long-term cropping with only partial replacement of nutrients removed in harvested product results in rundown of soil nutrient reserves. Reserves of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in soil can be significant, but they dissolve slowly, and little is understood concerning the drivers of their release. This project aims to understand the rate and extent to which soil reserves of these nutrients can be released thereby allowing producers to better target nutrient replacement strategies to maintain sustainable crop production.
