  • Wheat breeding relies on genetic variation which underpins trait variation. We have leveraged resequencing data from large diversity panels, including the Watkins landrace collection, modern cultivars and diploid einkorn, to conduct haplotype analysis across the wheat genome.

    We developed the ‘Identity-by-State in python’ (IBSpy) pipeline (https://github.com/Uauy-Lab/IBSpy) to identity regions identical by state to pangenome assemblies and introgressions from wild wheat relatives.

    We will provide examples of how we have used this resource for discovery of novel haplotypes of use in breeding.
